Last year, during the economic downturn, we had quite a few 3D movies. We knew that this year would be better. But little did we know that we’d be seeing 3D releases happening one after another at a rate of more than once a month, approaching twice a month! We have 3D movies scheduled to come out from every major studio and that is led to a positively delicious platter of movies.
First we have ‘Shrek Forever After’, the fourth and final adventure of the amiable ogre. The green family is up for it one more time this year with the vocal talents of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddi Murphy and Antonio Banderas, leading to an all star cast. Releasing day after on May 21!
Then we have ‘Toy Story 3′, the next installment of a long running animated saga. This time Andy heads to college and Woody, Buzz and the others are given to Day care where they met new friends and challenges. With the voices of Whoopie Goldberg, Tim Allen, Jaon Cusack, Tom Hanks and others — this 3D adventure will be releasing on June 18.
In ‘Despicable Me’, a villain’s plan to steal the moon is foiled by three orphan girls who befriend him. With Julie Andrews, Russell Brand and Steve Carell in the main voice roles, this one will be releasing on July 9.
The Cats and the Dogs are back in ‘Cats and Dogs: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore’, where cats and dogs unite to fight against a spy cat and his sinister plans. Starring Chris O’Donnell and Roger Moore and the voices of Alec Baldwin and Bette Midler, this furry and fast caper is releasing July 30.
Serious street dancing makes a come back with ‘Step Up: 3D’. In this third movie, street dancers Rick Malambri and Sharni Vinson take on the best street dancers of the world in New York. Releasing August 6.
